Just the Girls

I've gotten a little behind on the blog, and life in general for that matter. Not many new pics to share. Mike
went out of town for 2 days and Vivian and I hit a few rough patches along the way--especially late at night, but we have since bounced back nicely. We are working on getting her on a "SCHEDULE." Trying to see if that is actually possible with a newborn, but I think we're half-way there.

Vivi is getting so alert and is beginning to show her very distinct personality, which makes us love her more of course. I think she's a bit of a ham sometimes. I have started reading her books and she actually seems to be looking at the pictures when she is not distracted by my face, which makes her grin. I was surprised that she can actually look at books this early in her life. I'm impessed. We also have a game where I repeat back to her every sound that she is making which is usually some kind of vowel sound and then this fake cough thing she does. She likes this game a lot. I think she's pretty vocal and would like to speak her mind, so this is her way of expressing herself currently.

She's also continuing to lose her "daywalker" red hair. I can't really tell if there is new hair coming in, but it looks like there might be a little blond hair growing in the front, and some darker hair in the middle and back of her head. Soon she'll look like a calico cat.

We have been letting her sleep with us in bed the past couple of nights (shhh..don't tell the pediatrician).
She wakes up smiling and laughing which validates breaking the baby in bed rules. And of course, as with most babies, the changing table is where all the magic happens. She started turning her head and staring into space smiling and giggling to herself. One day I hope to figure out what exactly she thinks is so funny.

Ahhh...I need some rest . More stories and pics to come after our trip to Philly tomorrow!
